Florida State's Jalen Ramsey kicked out of practice
Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey was kicked out of practice Sunday after getting a bit physical.

The best part of playing defense is hitting people. The second best part of playing defense is hitting people.
Hitting people is fun!
But you can't hit your teammates in practice. At least, not too often, and that's a lesson Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey learned Sunday. Ramsey was kicked out of practice by Jimbo Fisher after he got a bit too physical.
"He was told not to do something and he defied me," Fisher said. "We'll judge from there. He'll decide if he wants to play at Florida State."
"You're going to do things my way or they're not going to play here. When I tell somebody to do something and they don't do it, it's serious. That's how you have problems."
Now, it was not just one isolated incident that led to Ramsey being tossed out. It was several. He got into a tussle with running back Karlos Williams, shoved receiver Kermit Whitfield and laid out a big hit on tight end Ryan Izzo during a non-tackling period.
The big blow came when Ramsey blitzed and knocked Williams into the legs of Jameis Winston. That's when Fisher booted Ramsey from practice, but not before letting Ramsey know how he felt about his decisions until Ramsey was off the field.
Which he should have done.
Hitting people may be the best part of playing defense, but it's hard to figure out what Jalen Ramsey is thinking through all of this. There is no benefit to hitting your teammates in practice when you're not supposed to. Nothing good can come of it.
