Former Hawkeye Tyler Sash tased after police chase

Nothing good ever happens to college football players -- either current or former -- on scooters.

The latest proof of this non-assailable theory comes to us thanks to former Iowa safety Tyler Sash. Sash was charged following a police chase on Saturday in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

According to a report from KCCI, Sash was followed by police while riding on a scooter. He would eventually ditch the scooter and attempt to evade police on foot, but he was found hiding behind a tree in somebody's yard before running away again. The police repeatedly asked Sash to stop running away, and when they eventually caught him, he resisted the handcuffs. That's when he was tased by police.

While Sash would not submit to a field sobriety test, he reportedly told police he'd had six drinks in one hour. He was charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts.

Sash played for Iowa from 2008 to 2010, before a brief NFL career with the New York Giants from 2010 to 2013.
