George W. Bush, Robert Griffin III at Baylor for McLane Stadium opening
George W. Bush and Robert Griffin III were among the notable guests for Baylor's first game at McLane Stadium against SMU.
Baylor's brand new waterfront home, McLane Stadium, opened on Sunday night with the Bears taking on SMU. The game was sold out, and apparently the place to be in Texas on Sunday night.
Robert Griffin III, the school's first Heisman Trophy winner, was on hand for the revealing of a statue in his honor outside the stadium. Griffin was on the sideline for the game, and at midfield for the coin toss. Georgia W. Bush handled the first coin toss in McLane Stadium and offered some last-minute words of encouragement to Bryce Petty with a tap on the helmet.
