Indiana QB Cam Coffman is transferring
Quarterback Cam Coffman is transferring from Indiana after throwing only nine passes in 2013.
Indiana coach Kevin Wilson will have one less option at quarterback in 2014, as Wilson confirmed that Cam Coffman has decided to transfer.
“I just want an opportunity to play somewhere,” Coffman told The Hoosier Scoop. “I realized Nate [Sudfeld] is a very good quarterback and so is Tre [Roberson]. I don’t see myself getting that opportunity here, so I’m going to try to find another spot where I can play.”
Coffman found himself playing often in 2012 after Tre Roberson suffered a broken leg early in the season, and he played well too. Coffman finished the 2012 season throwing for 2,734 yards and 15 touchdowns, but he appeared in only three games in 2013, throwing nine passes for 29 yards.
It's unknown where Coffman will transfer to, but Kevin Wilson did say that he would help Coffman find another school. Coffman has one year of eligibility remaining.
