With Kevin Sumlin telling SEC media last week that quarterbacks Kyle Allen and Kenny Hill will compete "through two-a-day practices," is the lane clear for Hill to rebound from his suspension for public intoxication?

Texas A&M players are off this entire month, but once June workouts kick off in June, Hill will be fully cleared to participate, according to a source. According to mid-April reports out of Texas, Hill had been reinstated with disciplinary obligations to fulfill.

With Matt Joeckel transferring to TCU, Hill and Allen comprise one of the country's more intriguing quarterback battles -- the right to replace Johnny Football in College Station.

Hill has more experience, passing for 183 yards and a touchdown as Manziel's freshman backup last year. But Allen is making things interesting as a high-profile true freshman who enrolled in the spring and improved during spring ball.

In late March, Hill was found passed out in a planter outside of a local restaurant.
