LOOK: Spurrier-era Duke team honored with 2014 uniforms
The 2014 Duke football uniforms will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 1989 ACC Championship Team coached by Steve Spurrier.
Duke unveiled its uniforms for the 2014 season on Monday, which included a look that commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Blue Devils' ACC championship in 1989.
The school released a cool hype video on its Facebook page with clips of that 1989 team in action. The most noticeable connection between the two uniforms are the stripes on the shoulder, while the alternate black uniform puts a new spin on the classic design.
That team, coached by Steve Spurrier just before his return to Florida as head coach, finished the season with a 6-1 record in ACC play and was arguably the most successful Duke team until David Cutcliffe led the Blue Devils to a 10-win season and Coastal Division title in 2013.
