Week 8 was a big Saturday for the College Football Playoff race. Not only did Texas A&M drop from the list of undefeated teams, but Ohio State did as well with a 24-21 loss on the road at Penn State.
There were many storylines from the game -- from Ohio State's struggles in the passing game to the botched special teams plays. But the main question many had after the game was how the playoff race was going to change.
However, CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd and Fox Sports' Stewart Mandel have seen this movie before -- it was released in 2014 -- and aren't so sure the Buckeyes are out of the race.
Ohio St survived losing to a 6-6 Va Tech at home. This is more than doable

Big upset. Not sure there's big ramifications on the playoff race. Ohio State still controls its fate.

... while others had a harder time swallowing the outcome.
Worst loss I can remember. Seriously. Can't believe we lost to that team.

Former players weighed in as well, with former quarterback Cardale Jones, who once competed with J.T. Barrett, sending out his empathy for the Buckeyes signal-caller.

I honestly wanna go in on the play & play calling of that game but I'm not, BUT, 1 player can't do it by himself

Of course, what would an Ohio State upset be if Michigan didn't just so happen to tweet out a celebratory GIF at nearly midnight ET.
