Louisville leading rusher Senorise Perry (ACL) done for the year
Charlie Strong announced Monday that Louisville running back Senorise Perry suffered a torn ACL in the loss at Syracuse.

Louisville running back Senorise Perry will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL, coach Charlie Strong announced on Monday.
Perry led the team in rushing with 705 yards and 11 touchdowns, serving as one half of a potent rushing attack with junior Jeremy Wright (680 yards, nine touchdowns). Louisville has not had a 1,000-yard rusher since Bilal Powell. But heading into the loss at Syracuse, both backs were on track to possibly reach that milestone together. With Perry out and Louisville suddenly facing an uphill battle to a BCS bowl, there are more concerns for Strong than reaching yardage milestones.
CS: I think we'll be okay in the running game. Senorise was a big part of our offense, but Jeremy Wright will take more of the load.— LouisvilleFootball (@UofLFootball) November 12, 2012
Perry's injury is yet another fallout from the Cardinals' disappointing 45-26 loss at Syracuse on Saturday. Perry suffered the injury in the first quarter, and Louisville could not get anything going on the ground the rest of the game -- finishing with just 48 yards rushing as a team on 17 attempts.
The Cardinals were riding high this season, off to the first 9-0 start in school history. The loss at Syracuse not only ends the undefeated dreams but also sets them back one game in the Big East standings. Rutgers' one loss this season came against Kent State, so now there is no margin for error before the Cardinals travel to New Jersey to face the Scarlet Knights in the regular-season finale.
