LSU punter Brad Wing has been suspended for the Chick-fil-A Bowl as a result of a violation of team rules, the school announced on Thursday.  The Tigers are set to face Clemson in the annual SEC/ACC bowl game held in the Georgia Dome on Dec. 31.

The news was first reported by The Times-Picayune of New Orleans.

Jim Kleinpeter, citing a source close to the situation, reported early Thursday that the Australian born, All-America punter would not play in the Tigers' bowl game. Wing's backup is freshman Jamie Keehn -- also an Australian-born punter.

Keehn filled in for Wing in LSU's season opener, a 41-14 win over North Texas. He punted three times for a 41-yard average. Wing sat out that game with a sore hamstring.

Wing averaged 44.8 yards on 59 punts this season, with 21 downed inside the 20-yard line, 17 fair catches and 10 touchbacks.
