Miami OL Hunter Knighton released from hospital
Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Hunter Knighton was hospitalized after falling ill during a pre-spring practice workout.
Miami offensive lineman Hunter Knighton has been released from the hospital after a health scare, according to the Associated Press.
Knighton fell ill during a workout last month, shortly before the Hurricanes began spring practice on March 1. In a statement released Monday night, the redshirt freshman thanked the "best family, coaches, doctors and support group for getting me this far."
Due to the request for privacy from Knighton's family, Miami officials have not shared any details regarding the offensive lineman's health issue or the circumstances of his hospitalization. An official statement from the athletic department, released shortly after the initial incident, suggested that the team expects Knighton to return.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Hunter Knighton and his family at this time, though we are encouraged by the prognosis," the statement read. "We look forward to his return to normal activities as soon as his health permits."
