Missouri defensive tackle Harold Brantley will miss the entire 2015 season due to injuries sustained in a scary car crash from late June. Missouri coach Gary Pinkel confirmed that Brantley would be out for the season at 2015 SEC Media Days, and noted that Brantley is "very lucky to be alive."

Brantley suffered a broken left leg as well as ligament damage in his left knee when his car struck a guardrail and overturned. Brantley was the lone returning starter on Missouri's defensive line from 2014, so now what had long been one of the Tigers' biggest strengths is one of the biggest question marks.

Brantley had 54 tackles and five sacks in 2014 and was expected to be the anchor of the Tigers' defensive line. With starters Shane Ray, Markus Golden and Matt Hoch all leaving, the Tigers were already going to be inexperience up front. With Brantley out, junior Josh Augusta will step in as the nose guard after recording 22 tackles in 14 games in 2014.
