NC State OL Rob Crisp (concussion) granted medical redshirt for '13

NC State starting left tackle Rob Crisp suffered a concussion in the second game of 2013 and missed the rest of the season. Luckily, the senior was granted a fifth year with the program thanks to a medical redshirt.

Wolfpack head coach Dave Doeren announced Monday that the 6-7, 300 pound lineman will be back in action this summer.

Crisp's experience will be a boost for a 2014 NC State team that is busting at the seams with youth. According to Joe Giglio's count over at the News & Observer, the Wolfpack will have 51 redshirt freshman and true freshman in the program this fall

"It's part of what happens when you rebuild a program," Doeren said via the N&O

One new face for NC State fans not lacking in BCS level experience is quarterback, where many expect Florida transfer Jacoby Brissett to emerge as the starter after sitting out all of 2013. Brissett started just three games in two seasons for the Gators, but has been practicing with the Wolfpack since last year's spring practice.

NC State starts spring practice this week and will conclude with the Kay Yow Spring Game on April 12 in Carter-Finley Stadium.
