Nebraska RB Adam Taylor suffers broken ankle
The injury bug sweeping Nebraska has claimed another player, with backup tailback Adam Taylor breaking his ankle in practice Saturday.
The hits have kept on coming for Nebraska .
Saturday's news wasn't as bad as that from the previous day, when three key Husker defenders were ruled out for the season, including starting linebacker Michael Rose. Still, it will have brought Bo Pelini no joy at all to confirm that backup tailback Adam Taylor broke his ankle in practice Saturday and will be out indefinitely, per the Associated Press.
A four-star recruit from Katy, Texas in the class of 2013, Taylor redshirted last season and was battling Imani Cross and Terrell Newby for carries behind All-Big Ten senior Ameer Abdullah.
Per the AP, offensive coordinator Time Beck had praised Taylor's performance in the Huskers' spring camp and first week of fall practice. No timetable was set for his return.
Abdullah, Cross and Newby finished first, second and third on the team in rushing in 2013, with Abdullah's 1,690 yards leading the Big Ten.
