New Top 25 Polls: Alabama unanimous No. 1 only in coaches poll, Florida jumps Kansas State
The new top 25 college football rankings were released Sunday, with Alabama, Oregon, Kansas State, Florida and Notre Dame leading the updated polls.

Week 8 did not feature a ton of upsets or any major shakeups at the top of the polls.
Kansas State Wildcats
all emerged with convincing conference victories, solidifying their status as contenders to
Alabama Crimson Tide
at the top. The Crimson Tide were once again No. 1 in the AP and coaches polls after their 44-13 beatdown of
in Knoxville, though they were only a unanimous No. 1 in the coaches poll.
South Carolina Gamecocks fell from its position in the top 10 after its 44-11 loss to Florida in the Swamp, and now must hope for a Georgia Bulldogs victory in the Cocktail Party to stay in the hunt for the SEC East title. Notre Dame Fighting Irish survived a tough 17-14 battle with BYU, which sets up nicely for a primetime showdown with red-hot Oklahoma Sooners next weekend in Norman.
After making an appearance in the AP poll last week, the Ohio Bobcats finally break through in the coaches poll -- making their first appearance since 1991. Frank Solich's squad was off in Week 8, but hey -- that means they are still undefeated!
