New victim for Alabama ... again
After successfully jinxing another potential opponent for Alabama in the BCS title game, I go back to a previous one.
Another week, another potential opponent for Alabama in the BCS title game bites the dust. West Virginia went up in flames this week and I have no more major teams projected to be undefeated. For this week's bowl projections, that means back to the top of the one-loss teams and in this case, that means USC. I know Oregon fans don't like that much, but they can say they told me so on Nov. 3. Or not.
Kansas State is still in the Fiesta Bowl, but as the Big 12 champ instead of as the replacement for the champ.
Oregon is back in the BCS as a replacement for USC in the Rose Bowl. Maybe that'll make Ducks fans happy (no).
I have enough eligible teams again. Seventy right on the nose. That is, after using one of the exceptions for 5-7 Duke. It would figure to be a banner year for the MAC, with seven teams in bowls. Only the Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC would have more.
