A couple of championship-winning head coaches with West Virginia roots are heading back to their home state to assist with relief efforts from recent severe flooding.

In separate tweets, Alabama and Florida State announced they would be accepting full uniform donations from local high schools in their respective state. According to West Virginia MetroNews, "the schools affected include Clay County, Elkview Middle, Herbert Hoover, Richwood and Richwood Middle School."

Additionally, Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher, plus Florida State assistant Rick Trickett -- another West Virginia native -- will be at Clay County High School on Wednesday, July 13, to present the uniforms. The deadline for donations is July 25.

Saban and Fisher were born in Fairmont and Clarksburg, respectively, two towns about about 20 miles apart. Fisher was also Saban's offensive coordinator at LSU.

"Football was such an important part of my childhood in West Virginia, and to see the devastation the flooding has caused, and how it has threatened so many high school football teams, we wanted to find a way to help," Saban said in a statement. "We are asking each high school from across the state to donate a full uniform to help these schools get their kids back on the football field this season."

"As football coaches, we can do a small part to help the community heal by assisting the high school football programs affected by this tragedy," Fisher said. "Many high schools won't be able to field football teams this fall without major assistance. I know that we can help these members of our football family."

Well done by both programs.
