Notre Dame starting OL Christian Lombard out for spring
Brian Kelly announced that two-year offensive line starter Christian Lombard has undergone wrist surgery.
Brian Kelly announced Friday that two Notre Dame players -- including starting offensive lineman Christian Lombard -- will miss the remainder of the Fighting Irish's spring camp after undergoing surgery.
Per the Associated Press, Kelly said Lombard, a fifth-year senior, had his right wrist operated on Thursday to repair a dislocation. Reserve wide receiver Will Mahone also had surgery for a fractured right foot suffered March 6.
Lombard is one of the Irish's most experienced offensive lineman, starting all 13 games in Notre Dame's run to the 2012 BCS Championship Game and the first seven in 2013 before being sidelined by back surgery to repair a herniated disk.
Mahone, a converted running back, has appeared in two games for Notre Dame.
