Oddsmaker Danny Sheridan on the Alabama-LSU point spread
USA Today sports handicapper Danny Sheridan discussed the double-digit line for Saturday night's SEC showdown on the Tim Brando Show.
The first week of November is finally here, meaning college football's 2013 season will be, one way or another, shaken up in the next seven days as six of the Top 13 teams in the BCS standings face each other in primetime conference competition.
The finale of this marquee weekend will be the annual meeting of LSU and Alabama. The top-ranked Crimson Tide open as a double-digit favorite in the game, despite the last three regular season meetings being decided by a combined 10 points. USA Today's Danny Sheridan joined the Tim Brando Show on Monday to discuss the spread and preview the matchup from the bettors angle.
A drop-off in performance from LSU's defense is a reason for the Tigers fans to be concerned, but Sheridan believes that Alabama's secondary hasn't been in championship form either. Zach Mettenberger had one of his best games of the 2012 season against the Tide, and with Cam Cameron added to the mix and a plethora of skill players around it could be a weakness LSU can exploit.
