Ohio State lands Alabama transfer center Chad Lindsay
Center Chad Lindsay, who started four games for the Crimson Tide last year, will play his final season with the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Braxton Miller has a new center.
Alabama transfer Chad Lindsay, who started four games for the Tide last year, is transferring to Ohio State.
"It's done. Go Buckeyes!" Lindsay told CBSports.com in a text.
Lindsay visited five schools, including Ohio State, Cal, Oklahoma, Louisville and Michigan. Lindsay has graduated and can play his senior season in 2014. Lindsay lends experience to an offensive line that lost several starters from last season.
"I am humbled and honored by the offers that I received from so many prestigious universities. It was a pleasure to talk with all of the great coaches and I really enjoyed the official visits," said Lindsay. "I will be transferring to The Ohio State University to complete a Master's degree and play football. I am looking forward to and very excited about the upcoming months."
The buzz around Tuscaloosa is Alabama did not want to lose Lindsay and had considered starting him at center while moving Ryan Kelly to left tackle. That's no longer an option, and Ohio State makes a nice move on the all-powerful transfer wire.
Not many coaches play for Nick Saban and Urban Meyer, but Lindsay does.
