Pac-12 Championship Game to be played at new 49ers Stadium
The Pac-12 finally has a neutral site for its championship game, as it will be played at the brand new Levi's Stadium.
The Pac-12 Championship Game is no longer nomadic and has a home. Well, for the next three years anyway.
Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott announced on Thursday that the game will be played at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, starting this season. Levi's Stadium is the new stadium of the NFL's San Francisco 49ers, and it will open this fall.
“Pac-12 football is among the deepest and best football conferences in the country,” said Scott in a release. “Our Football Championship Game is important for selecting a team for the Rose Bowl and possibly the College Football Playoff, and we are thrilled to offer student-athletes and their fans the ultimate venue to culminate a successful season.”
It will host its first Pac-12 Championship on Friday, Dec. 5.
