Penn State transfer considering Mississippi State and South Florida
Quarterback Steven Bench announced he'd transfer from Penn State last week and he's now considering Mississippi State and South Florida.
According to ESPN.com's Joe Schad, Bench is considering both South Florida and Mississippi State. Bench plans on working with quarterbacks coach George Whitfield in California this weekend and could possibly make a visit to one of those two schools next weekend.
Due to the penalties levied against Penn State by the NCAA, Bench will be eligible to play for his new school in 2013 and still has three years of eligibility remaining.
A three-star member of Penn State's 2012 recruiting class, Bench appeared in only two games with the Nittany Lions last season, completing two of his eight passes for 12 yards. He also rushed for 18 yards on three carries.
