PHOTO: Buckeye players receive game ball for 24-game win streak
Tight end Jeff Heuerman tweeted a photo of a special commemorative game ball reportedly awarded to Ohio State players for the team's 24-game winning streak.
No, Ohio State 's 2013 season didn't end the way the Buckeyes wanted, with their school record 24-game winning streak ended in the Big Ten championship game by Michigan State and Clemson edging them in the Orange Bowl.
Still, though:, the phrase "school record 24-game winning streak" should tell you that, disappointing ending or not, the Buckeyes accomplished something special in Urban Meyer's first two years on the job all the same. To commemorate that feat, per Eleven Warriors, the team awarded the players a special "game ball" -- one shared on Twitter by Buckeye tight end Jeff Heuerman:
Bonus points for the two wins over Michigan being labeled as over "The Team Up North." But no doubt Meyer would rather his Buckeyes get to tweet photos of a different bit of postseason memorabilia after future seasons.
