Expect to see a plenty of new uniforms on display in the coming weeks, as many schools like to unveil potential designs when fan interest is high for spring practice and the annual spring game.
On Monday, former Akron offensive lineman Vinnie Rizzo shared photos of new Zips gear from his Twitter. There is no word if Terry Bowden's squad will wear the chrome helmets, complete with a blue "Z" on the side, in 2014, but I'd expect it to be in the rotation if fans voice their approval.

On the field, Akron showed an impressive step forward in 2013. The Zips improved from 0-8 in MAC play to 4-4 and won four of the final five games of the season to finish 5-7. Akron's spring game is scheduled for Saturday, April 19.
