Southern Miss will have new football uniforms provided by Russell Athletic in 2013.
Southern Miss debuted new football uniforms this week, part of a department-wide showcase for the Golden Eagles' new apparel deal with Russell Athletic.
The deal will run five years, beginning with the 2013-14 academic year and running through the end of 2018-19, and it will provide $2.75 million for Southern Miss in total compensation.
"I am very pleased to announce that Russell Athletic will become the official athletic apparel provider for Southern Miss Athletics," athletics director Jeff Hammond said. "Under the leadership of President Rodney Bennett this is an extremely exciting time at Southern Miss, and this partnership with Russell Athletic further solidifies our future."
One unique aspect of the design is the electric-yellow tease in the numbers on both the white and black jerseys. The Golden Eagles join a handful of current FBS programs wearing Russell Athletic gear, including Colorado State, Ohio University and Georgia Tech.
Check out the uniforms below, reveled Wednesday on USM's Twitter account.
