PHOTOS: Oklahoma, Texas to wear gold-accented uniforms
The Sooners and Longhorns will both wear special uniforms during Saturday's edition of the Red River Rivalry.
Regardless of record or ranking, the Red River Rivalry game between Oklahoma and Texas is always going to be one of the (if not the) most special games on the Big 12 calendar. So it's only appropriate the two teams have reached an agreement with Nike to wear special uniforms for each of its next two installments.
And from the official Texas twitter account:
For once, the Swoosh deserves a hearty thumbs-up for their uniform dabbling, as these looks are unique enough to feel worthy of the occasion while still looking like, well, Texas and Oklahoma uniforms. (Remember that that's hardly a requirement for alternates these days.) Silly college football bloggers aren't hte only ones impressed, either:
This is the most excitement I've ever seen in this locker room! This gold has everybody acting like its Christmas morning.— Gabe Ikard (@GabeIkard) October 7, 2013
Two more looks, including what may be an alternate helmet for the Longhorns:
