PHOTOS: Texas Tech's 'Lone Star' uniforms for Texas game
Texas Tech and Under Armour have revealed the uniforms the Red Raiders will wear in their Thanksgiving night game vs. Texas.
Texas will once again host their traditional Thanksgiving night game a week from Thursday, with Texas Tech this year's opponent. But the Red Raiders apparently won't be happy as mere props in the Longhorns' annual celebrations, judging by their choice of uniforms.
As they did with a red-heavy look in 2012, Tech will attempt to claim the "Texas" part of their name away from the Longhorns with a "Lone Star"-inspired alternate uniform ... with, really, a heavy emphasis on the "Lone Star" aspect. Via the Under Armour Facebook page:
Though there's some of both, the overall look here is more good than bad -- the star-on-the-shoulder approach worked for the Dallas Cowboys, and it works again here -- but the real highlight is that classy white helmet, with the state-silhouette TT logo on one side and the numbers on the other.
Tech will have to take some major strides on the field to beat the Longhorns, the Red Raiders having now lost four straight since their 7-0 start, each defeat by progressively wider margins. But at the very least, they'll look good regardless of the result.
