Tight end Drew Carswell and linebacker Eric Williams have both been dismissed from the Pitt football after being detained in a drug raid last week. Pitt coach Paul Chryst made the announcement on Tuesday.

Carswell and Williams were suspended indefinitely last Friday after being detained, and both will be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Pittsburgh television station KDKA.

Defensive tackle Khaynin Mosley-Smith reportedly was also present during the raid and suspended indefinitely, but he still remains with the team while on suspension. However, it's possible Mosley-Smith only remains on the team because he's yet to be charged with anything. Should that change, so could Mosley-Smith's status.

Pitt also announced the suspension of freshman quarterback Tra'Von Chapman for a separate incident that occurred over the weekend.

Carswell caught 13 passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns with the Panthers last season while Williams had 52 tackles, a sack and an interception.
