Report: Florida coach Will Muschamp will be back in 2014
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Will Muschamp will be back at Florida in 2014 despite the loss to FCS Georgia Southern on Saturday.
Florida coach Will Muschamp will be back to coach the Gators in 2014, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Citing a source close to the program, the report indicated that Florida "has no plans to fire Will Muschamp, even after a monumental loss to Georgia Southern." However, "significant changes" to the coaching staff are expected.
That report falls in like with Bruce Feldman's comments from Saturday regarding the possible changes ahead in Gainesville.
Heard this wk from a source that #UF would make changes, canning OC & OLine coach. After losing today I wonder if Muschamp also is forced out— Bruce Feldman (@BFeldmanCBS) November 23, 2013
Florida's 26-20 loss at home to Georgia Southern was the team's sixth straight and it guaranteed the program's first losing season since 1979.
Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley said he was "1000 percent convinced that Will Muschamp is the guy to lead the football program" earlier this month, and there is no doubt that the Gators' injury woes this season have played a major role in the rapid drop-off from 11-1 just a year ago.
