Report: Jimbo Fisher agrees to contract extension
Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher will now be one of the ten highest-paid coaches in the country.
We don't know yet if the Texas job will come open this winter, but even the thought of it happening has helped make a couple coaches richer this week. First it was Auburn's Gus Malzahn after he was linked to the Texas job, and now it's Florida State's Jimbo Fisher.
Since taking over for Bobby Bowden in 2010 Fisher has gone 43-10 in four seasons with the Seminoles, and a win over Duke in the ACC Championship on Saturday night will send Fisher's squad to Pasadena for the BCS Championship Game.
The new deal would make Fisher, who is making a base salary of $2.75 million this season, one of the ten highest-paid coaches in the country.
