Report: Rushel Shell won't return to Pittsburgh
Pitt running back Rushel Shell wants to stay close to home but probably won't rejoin the Panthers.
Pittsburgh running back Rushel Shell has decided not to transfer to UCLA after all, according to a report on Sunday from the Los Angeles Times. However, it looks as if he won't be able to return to Pitt, despite his wishes, according to multiple reports on Monday.
Shell, a rising sophomore, announced in April that he would be enrolling at UCLA at the end of June. But the Times report cited a source that said Shell, who has twin daughters, instead wished to remain close to his home in Pennsylvania and rejoin the Pittsburgh team.
The former five-star recruit rushed for 614 yards and four touchdowns as a true freshman for the Panthers last season.
If the latest report is correct, then there's no telling where Shell will end up. Whoever gets him will get a good one -- the 6-foot, 220-pounder has all the tools to be a productive college running back.
