Richt: Georgia RB Todd Gurley (ankle) 'doubtful' for Missouri
Georgia head coach Mark Richt told reporters Tuesday that it is doubtful that Todd Gurley will play against Missouri on Saturday.
Georgia running back Todd Gurley missed the Bulldogs' overtime win against Tennessee due an ankle injury suffered the week before against LSU. With fellow sophomore running back Keith Marshall out for the season with a knee injury, the concern regarding Gurley's status has been heightened.
The Bulldogs host undefeated Missouri, currently at No. 25 in the AP poll, on Saturday, and head coach Mark Richt said Tuesday that Gurley may not be ready to return to the field.
"I would say it's doubtful [he plays this weekend]. He could," Richt told reporters Tuesday. "In life, adversity happens. You can panic or you can look at what you have and find a way to win."
What the Bulldogs have is 5-9, 183 pound true freshman J.J. Green . The former three-star prospect from Kingsland, Ga. carried the ball 17 times for 129 yards in the 34-31 overtime win at Tennessee. He was an early-enrollee in the 2013 recruiting class, but even Green likely did not expect to see this kind of stage playing behind Gurley and Marshall.
