You probably weren't expecting to open the internet today and see one of the two living Beatles expressing his support for Alabama football, but here we are. How Ringo Starr became a fan of the Crimson Tide and how deep the native Liverpudlian's Alabama fandom actually runs remain open questions, but he likes them enough to take time out of his New Year's Eve to stage this photograph.
The occasion of this photo is, obviously, the Crimson Tide advancing to the College Football Playoff final. Jalen Hurts and the Alabama offense weren't at their best during their 24-7 win over Washington in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, but they got by with a little help from Bo Scarbrough and their friends on the Crismon Tide defense.
I checked Paul McCartney's Twitter feed to see if he's backed a College Football Playoff semifinalist, but the 74-year-old has yet to chime in on the NYE football games.
