Twitter can be a great way for a sports league to interact with fans, promote events and disperse information quickly, but it can also cause some headaches in the event of a hack.

The SEC dealt with such a situation on Saturday morning when its account was hacked and some inappropriate pictures of scantily clad women were tweeted out from the official account. They were quickly taken down and the league released a statement on the matter.

"We became aware of it when we saw some retweets," SEC spokesman Herb Vincent said in a statement. "The images were removed immediately, our password changed and we notified Twitter. We will, of course, continue to monitor the account closely today."

If you would like to see an example of one of those tweets sent during the hack, you can click here.

The SEC isn't alone in getting hacked, though. The NFL's Twitter account was recently hacked with the hackers tweeting out that Roger Goodell was dead. He wasn't, of course, and joked about it later that day.

All in all, it's not a big deal, but maybe update that Twitter password more often, SEC. Lots of people have SabanRules123 as their password.
