Seven-year-old Nebraska running back sensation gets a trading card
Jack Hoffman's touchdown run in Nebraska has been commemorated by Upper Deck.
On April 6, a crowd of 60,000 at Memorial Stadium in Nebraska saw 7-year-old Jack Hoffman, a brain cancer patient, score a touchdown during the Cornhuskers' spring game. The touching moment has been viewed more than 7 million times on Youtube.
Now, trading card company Upper Deck has created a special “Star Rookie” rookie card for Hoffman from his memorable touchdown run:
"Jack is the type of inspirational athlete who absolutely deserves an Upper Deck rookie card," said Chris Carlin, Upper Deck’s sports marketing manager. "Upper Deck does not want to risk Jack’s amateur status with the NCAA, so the card we created will not be part of a mainstream trading card release."
