Source: Story of Manziel's trip to Big Easy '100 percent BS'
The story of Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel's departure from the Manning Passing Academy took another turn this weekend with more rumors, but a source who was with the Heisman Trophy winner the night he left the camp says any reports of Manziel going to New Orleans are '100 percent BS.'
The saga of Johnny Manziel's departure last week from the Manning Passing Academy took more twists this weekend. The blog Rumors and Rants posted a story Saturday saying the Heisman Trophy winner was out on Bourbon Street the night before he was kicked out of the camp. However, a source who was out with Manziel late that night at the Manning Camp told CBS they actually never left Thibodaux.
"That story about him being in New Orleans is 100 percent BS," the source said Sunday.
The Texas A&M quarterback fielded questions from the media for over two hours last week in Alabama as part of SEC media days. Many of those questions regarded Manziel's time in Louisiana at the Manning Passing Academy.
"I made a mistake and didn't wake up in time when I should have, and that's pretty much the end of that," Manziel said at SEC media days on Wednesday. "Missing the meeting wasn't anything due to the night prior. It wasn't anything involved in that. It was just simply my phone died, I overslept, I woke up the next morning whenever I did, went and talked to them and it was kind of a mutual decision to get home and get some time to relax."
