Southern California loses LB Dawson, RB Davis for the season
Southern California linebacker Lamar Dawson and running back Justin Davis will miss the rest of the year after suffering knee injuries.
Dawson suffered his knee injury during practice on Tuesday while Davis suffered an ankle injury during the team's loss to Notre Dame on Saturday and he's already undergone surgery on the ankle. Dawson will require surgery on his knee as well, but he needs to wait until the swelling goes down.
Dawson had 35 tackles, 3½ for loss, and 1½ sacks for the Trojans in seven games this season. Justin Davis is USC's second-leading rusher with 361 yards and six touchdowns.
While losing two players like this would impact any college football team, the impact on USC is even greater considering the depth issues the Trojans have thanks to NCAA sanctions.
