Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel autograph in air against Rice
Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel engaged in conversation with some Rice players. The topic was unknown, but Manziel mimicked the action of an autograph.
Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel's superstar status has changed the way he is treated off the field. According to the early minutes of his 2013 debut against Rice, it has changed the way he is treated on the field as well.
Check out the Vine below, courtesy of SB Nation's Brian Floyd, which captures a post-play exchange between Manziel and a Rice defensive lineman. Just before the broadcast switched to another camera, Manziel appeared to mimic the action of an autograph in the direction of the Owls.
One guess -- and my assumption until proven otherwise -- is that Manziel's autograph-related controversy will be a hot topic for trash talk from Texas A&M opponents all season. Since Manziel was getting up from the bottom of the pile after a quarterback run, it is not crazy to think he was provoked.
OK, now the autograph.
