Texas Tech lands former Ohio State LB Mike Mitchell
Mike Mitchell was once a five-star recruit signed to Ohio State. Now he's transferring to Texas Tech after a year with the Buckeyes.
Once a top-30 national recruit signed to Ohio State, linebacker Mike Mitchell will rebuild his collegiate career in Lubbock.
Mitchell on Friday told Texas Tech he will transfer to the Red Raiders, according to a source. Mitchell was in Lubbock as part of his second visit to the campus.
Mitchell, who's from the Dallas area, picked Tech over Texas A&M and Baylor. Mitchell was part of the 2013 recruiting class but opted to leave Ohio State after an injury-riddled redshirt campaign in Columbus.
