Trey Franks will not return to Oklahoma
Sooners return man Trey Franks will not return to Oklahoma next season, giving up his final year of eligibility.
Trey Franks will not be suiting up for Oklahoma in 2014.
The Oklahoman has confirmed with the school that Franks has graduated from school and will not return to the football team next season, even though he has one year of eligibility remaining.
Franks was suspended for the entire 2012 season due to the old "unspecified violation of team rules" but returned in 2013. He spent the season on special teams, returning five kicks for 118 yards and also picking up six tackles and a fumble recovery. He began the year as a defensive back before switching to wide receiver, where he'd spent the first two years of his career.
Though he didn't have a reception in 2013, Franks did catch 51 passes for 459 yards and a touchdown in his career.
There is no indication that Franks plans to transfer to another school.
