UCLA OL Christian Morris to transfer, possibly to Ole Miss
UCLA's four-star offensive tackle from the 2013 signing class, Christian Morris, intends to transfer to Ole Miss.
Christian Morris, a four-star offensive lineman from UCLA's 2013 recruiting class, has decided to move closer to his Tennessee home.
Morris told UCLA's Rivals site, BruinsSportsReport.com, he has great admiration for the program in Westwood under head coach Jim Mora, but the desire to be closer to family has been weighing on the true freshman.
"I had this homesick and unhappy feeling," Morris said. "And it lasted all the way until now."
UCLA's loss could be Ole Miss' gain, according to Morris. The Memphis, Tenn. native indicated that he has begun the process of transferring to Oxford to join the Rebels. He will apply for a hardship waiver to get this season of eligibility back.
"I've been talking to the compliance of Ole Miss; that's probably where I'm going to go. they were very close to home so I can get to my grandmother and family more."
Morris was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 20 offensive tackle according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. The 6-6, 285-pound lineman thanked UCLA for the short time spent in Westwood, complimenting Mora and the direction of the program.
"I respect everything, everything that UCLA does, man," Morris said. "The coaching staff, man, they care about you as a person and not just a player...Coach Mora really cared about me as a person. The players there, I respect just everything about UCLA. UCLA, man, it's just a great place and they're on the rise of doing something great."
