Bovada (@BovadaLV) released its updated BCS title and Heisman odds Thursday, which reflect the changes following USC's 21-14 loss at
in Week 3.
Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers moved to the front of the polls, and also the BCS title odds as USC slipped to 12/1 for the national championship. Florida State (8/1) and Oregon Ducks (9/1) saw their odds improve, while Stanford and Notre Dame Fighting Irish -- despite big jumps in the polls -- are at 25/1.
"USC even at 3/1 since the beginning of the season were still taking money going into last weekend and are a significant loser for the book if they win the BCS Championship, but with one loss have jumped to 12-1 in turn making Alabama a clear favorite at 19/10 followed by LSU dropping significantly from 13/2 to 7/2," said Kevin Bradley, Bovada.lv Sportsbook Manager. "USC still has a shot to make the championship game but may be hard-pressed especially the way teams like Florida State Seminoles , Georgia Bulldogs and Oregon have been playing."
Matt Barkley slipped to second in the Heisman odds, with West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith moving into the frontrunner position at 5/2. Barkley is still a close second at 5/1, with a big gap between those two and Oregon's all-everthing De'Anthony Thomas (15/2).
Another interesting updated odd from Bovada was regarding Notre Dame's eventual finish in the AP poll. That over/under is currently set at 15.5.
