USC adds late night commitment from Eddie Vanderdoes

USC has put together an impressive class of 2013, but had their most productive day of the year on Wednesday. In the afternoon, the Trojans landed two major pick ups along the offensive line within hours of each other, but followed it up with a late night commitment from Auburn (Calif.) defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes to give the program three ranked commitments in one day.

The big defensive tackle held offers from Alabama, Oregon and plenty of other programs but will stick with the in-state option at USC. Vanderdoes was recently named defensive line MVP at The Opening and is ranked 83rd overall in the class by MaxPreps, giving Lane Kiffin and staff an impressive addition at a position of need.

"I feel great about this," he later told the Sacramento Bee. "Great coaches, great people. Can't beat the academics, the football tradition, the weather. It's a life decision. It's not just a four-year decision. It's huge, crucial, and it's great. USC is setting me up for the rest of my career and life."

USC is up to 14 commitments for the class of 2013, which is expected to be 18 deep by the time Signing Day rolls around. Vanderdoes is the third defensive lineman for the Trojans, a position of need, and eighth member of the Top 100 to commit.
