On Tuesday, USC wide receiver George Farmer had to be carted off the practice field after suffering an injury to his left knee. Farmer underwent an MRI on Wednesday and the school has now confirmed that Farmer has a torn ACL and a torn MCL.

"George was having one of the best springs of any receiver," USC receivers coach Tee Martin told the Los Angeles Times.

Farmer will undergo surgery on the knee once the swelling subsides and will redshirt the 2013 season as he recovers from the injury.

Farmer is not the only Trojan to suffer a knee injury this week, either, as Lane Kiffin also announced that freshman safety Su'a Cravens will need surgery to repair a torn meniscus. The good news for Cravens is that he'll be able to return to the field this summer.

Before the injury, Cravens had been practicing with the first team, and it's anticipated he'll be starting for the Trojans defense this fall.
