USC's defensive line depth has taken a substantial hit with the loss of redshirt freshman defensive tackle Kenny Bigelow for the entire 2014 season.

The Trojans announced Bigelow's ACL injury on their official Twitter feed Tuesday afternoon:

Bigelow was one of the crown jewels of Lane Kiffin's 2013 recruiting class, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound consensus five-star prospect from Eastern Christian Academy in Delaware who ranked as the 247Sports composite rankings' No. 2 defensive tackle.

Bigelow redshirted last fall and was in line to join the Trojans' tackle rotation behind starters Antwaun Woods and Leonard Williams, or possibly compete for a starting job himself. Though thanks to the likes of Williams, Woods and Delvon Simmons the defensive line remains a strength for Steve Sarkisian in his debut season, Bigelow could prove to be a major loss all the same -- particularly if another injury strikes any time between now and the end of the season.
