VIDEO: A fox on the field at Texas Tech-TCU highlights ugly game
A fox made an appearance on the TCU sideline on Thursday night at Texas Tech during the Red Raiders 20-10 victory.
Texas Tech didn't put on the offensive spectacle from the first two weeks of the season, but aggressive defense and a timely touchdown pass from backup quarterback Davis Webb helped fuel the 20-10 victory over TCU on Thursday night.
Baker Mayfield left the game with an apparent left leg injury, so it was Webb who stepped in to lead a 75-yard touchdown drive that sealed the victory for the Red Raiders in Kliff Kingsbury's first Big 12 game as a head coach.
"That's about as ugly as you can win, but we'll take it," Kingsbury said after the game. "Pretty bizarre, but I thought our kids' effort was incredible the entire time. Played their hearts out and found a way to win an ugly game."
The game featured 23 accepted penalties, five combined turnovers, some questionable officiating and a fox on the field.
That's right, a fox on the field.
A tip of the hat to Fox Sports -- or the person running the Fox Sports Live Twitter account on Thursday -- for delivering on the unplanned marketing opportunity.
We're getting a lot of tweets about a FOX on the field. We cannot confirm nor deny any involvement.— FOXSportsLive (@FOXSportsLive) September 13, 2013
