VIDEO: Brutus Buckeye gets lit up in Ohio State practice
The Ohio State mascot got to run a play with the Buckeyes in practice and linebacker David Perkins did his best to make sure he'd never do it again.
That's a great photo, isn't it? It's the result of Ohio State mascot Brutus Buckeye running a play with the team during practice on Student Appreciation Day, and mascots are students, too. Students in costume.
Though that photo doesn't show Brutus being appreciated as much as it shows him being separated from the ball rather violently by Ohio State linebacker David Perkins. For his part Perkins says he did not mean to hit Brutus as hard as he did, but that when a linebacker sees a ballcarrier, "the juices get flowing."
