Video: Illinois coach Tim Beckman knocked over by ref, called for penalty
The entire 2012 football season for Tim Beckman and Illinois summed up in one video.
Tim Beckman's first season at Illinois has been a nightmare. The Illini were facing Northwestern on Saturday trying to avoid a 2-10 season and an 0-8 record in Big Ten play. Things have been so bad some fans are already calling for Beckman to be fired.
There was one play from Saturday's game that can sum up the entire year for Beckman and Illinois. With Northwestern returning an interception, Beckman got too close to an official on the sideline and was knocked over.
Beckman was then called for sideline interference, a 15-yard penalty that led to a Northwestern touchdown one play later.
Don't worry, Illinois. It'll all be over soon enough.
