Question for the day: Did Les Miles arrive at LSU as the occasionally unhinged, grass-eating, emotions-on-his-sleeve Mad Hatter perfectly suited for the unique rhythms (and challenges) of coaching football in the state of Louisiana, or did those rhythms (and challenges) change what had been a perfectly sane coach into one with a "distinct flavor" of bayou passion?
It's worth asking because it's worth remembering that Miles's early life and early football career were nearly as far from Baton Rouge, culturally speaking, as it's capable to get; he was born in Ohio and attended Michigan to play for Bo Schembechler. While Miles was there, he was also coached by Wolverines assistant Jack Harbaugh, and later got to know the two Harbaugh sons who would wind up coaching against one another in this Sunday's Super Bowl.
