VIDEO: Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin talks Signing Day momentum
Kevin Sumlin is one of the hottest recruiters in the country, and talks to CBSSports.com's Signing Day Live about the improvements his program has made.
That's quite a change of affairs from just a few seasons ago, and Kevin Sumlin told CBSSports.com's Signing Day Live that there's several factors -- the program's move to the SEC, the upcoming blockbuster renovation of Kyle Field, the Aggies up-tempo "style of football," good old-fashioned recruiting momentum -- that have helped boost the Aggies' in-state profile.
"I think we've been able to get over the hump ... with more guys than we probably used to," Sumlin said. "As I've said to the guys we're recruiting, 'There's a reason why guys are coming here.' It's not one thing, it's a lot of things, which has given us some momentum ... Certainly in the state of Texas, we've really, really made some strides."
But Sumlin isn't done -- he says that for the Aggies to take the next step to national title contention, "the talent level has to increase."
