Not only did the new Western Michigan coach jump into some ice cold water, but his wife did it as well. That's love. Crazy, stupid love.

As somebody who has lived in Chicago for pretty much his entire life, I'm a person who understands cold weather. I can deal with cold weather. Snow and wind chills below zero degrees do not bother me.
All that being said, I will never understand why somebody would willingly jump into an ice-cold body of water during the middle of winter, but people keep doing it.

While raising money for charity is a good thing generally no matter how you do it, there are plenty of ways to do so that don't involve jumping into cold water in the middle of the winter. I just want to point that out. You could have a bake sale or something. That involves brownies, and brownies are roughly a billion times better than jumping into cold water.
